Just a short walk from the Hiking Shack is where most adventures begin. First treasures are sought on Pebble Beach, heart-shaped stones etched by continuous tumbling by the waves. Then on to Skate Bay for a refreshing dip in the ocean, whilst possibly nearby, fishermen cast lines in the early morning light, while late afternoons often bring fiery sunsets that light up the rocks.

Sikombe River mouth has a small steamship that was wrecked years ago. Learn more about the shipwrecks on the wild coast. The farmers in Port St.Johns would send their produce down the coast to Durban for sale. The quickest route was by sea because of all the difficult terrain and gorges along the Wild Coast. This is an ideal place for the kiddies. A shallow, normally warm lagoon, and not far over the sand, the Indian Ocean awaits.
